SUMMARY:Coaching - NCCP Competition Development - Online
DESCRIPTION:Cycling Canada (CC) is seeking interest from coaches to participate in a NCCP Competition Development workshop\, scheduled to take place online in English and French. The course will be presented in English by Dan Proulx\, ChPC (Head Coach) and in French by Luc Arseneau\, ChPC and Yannick Bédard ChPC. As outlined in the memo on July 31\, the Competition Development program is changing\, and we will be pilot this beginning in January. \nCandidates must receive the recommendation of their Provincial or Territorial Association (P/TSO’s). The P/TSO’s are encouraged to prioritize coaches that are identified for the 2025 Canada Summer Games and that have taken some Multi-Sport Competition Development modules. The Multi-Sport modules are generally offered online by your Provincial Coaching Association.  \nRegistration:  \nEligible candidates must complete the application form (English or French) and make payment no later than January 8\, 2024. Candidates will receive confirmation as registration is received. \nSkills and Tactics Theory and Training to Race courses will be delivered every month in both English and French (minimum 5 participants required). If coaches are currently registered within the LMS they will receive a notification when any new course is added and can then register. \nContent Specific Training for Learning Facilitators\nAs we want to continue to build coaching capacity across the country\, Cycling Canada will be organizing a Content Specific Learning Facilitator Training on November 28 and 29 over Zoom lead by Paul Jurbala Master Coach Developer. Coach candidates must be a Community Trained or Comp-Intro Certified to take the training. Coaches will also have to take Make Ethical Decision (MED) and Learning Facilitator Core Training prior to attending. A French Core training will be delivered in the Spring of 2024\, more details to follow. \nPlease contact us if you need any assistance to identify what workshops your coaches need to complete in order to be certified or to take part at the Content Specific Learning Facilitator Training. \nWhat is a Learning Facilitator: Learning Facilitator is an experienced coach trained to develop\, support\, and challenge coaches in training. NCCP Learning Facilitators / Coach Developers help coaches hone and improve their knowledge and skills so they can provide positive and effective spot experiences for all participants.  \nThey can register through the Cycling Canada LMS\, please pass along this information to any coach that is interested\, the passcode to register is CCLF2023EN!  \nHow do I access the education portal?\nYou will need to register through the Cycling Canada education portal. \nYou will have to create a profile within the education portal to be able to register for the courses. DESCRIPTION:The Canadian Road Championships is the most prestigious cycling event on the domestic racing calendar. Since riders must compete at Nationals to be considered for the National Team\, this event sees participation from the highest level of cyclists in Canada and also features some of Canada’s top professional riders\, who rarely have the opportunity to race on home soil. \nThe Canadian Road Championships is comprised of three separate events: Time Trial\, Road Race and Criterium for Junior\, Elite and Para athletes. The full event is delivered over five days of exciting activities that draw spectators from all over Canada.

DESCRIPTION:Ontario Cycling is partnering with Special Olympics Ontario to support their upcoming Cayuga Velo – 4 hour & 8 hour cycling relay. This exciting event will take place on the 4-kilometer auto race circuit track at Toronto Motorsports Park. We invite teams of six riders for the 4-hour relay or teams of 10 riders of the 8-hours relay to compete in our Special Olympics fundraiser. \n\n\n \nThis event is not only for experienced riders. Ontario Cycling will host the HopOn program to athletes with intellectual disabilities. This learn-to-ride program will engage with Special Olympics youth and provide an opportunity to develop on-bike skills and confidence while the fundraising teams race around the track.
